Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Conducts logistics activities including planning, ordering, shipping, storage, delivery, and property accountability.
This position requires frequent travel to job sites in the Netherlands and Germany.
Major Job function: Assist the program manager, deputy program manager, and the installation team with logistics support to include: planning, ordering, shipping, storage, delivery, and property accountability. Duties include:
- Assist with the drafting of the Integrated Logistics Support Plan (ILSP). The ILSP documents the warranty, maintenance and support arrangements for the delivered equipment.
- Integrate logistics approach with program planning and installation events during all program phases.
- Assist with new equipment ordering as assigned by the PM.
- Provide instructions detailing the delivery process prior to ordering any equipment
- Ensure shipping documents are signed and cargo inspected and annotated if damaged.
- Once all items from the purchase order arrive and are verified, the packing slip should be sent to the contractor for vendor payment.
- If required to support this project, arrange for a local storage facility in which to receive and inventory equipment, build equipment racks, provide temporary storage without clogging up the work site, and transship equipment.
- Schedule transfers of equipment from the warehouse to the job site using approved methods, drivers and trucks.
- On the day of delivery, the logistics manager may assist the driver with organization, palletizing and loading of deliverables and accompany the driver/vehicle through security and the various checkpoints and ensure that escorts are available upon arrival at the final security checkpoint.
- Ensure the appropriate accountability form (material inspection and receiving report) is used: (1) to provide evidence of Government contract quality assurance at origin or destination; (2) to provide evidence of acceptance at origin or destination; (3) for packing lists; (4) for receiving; (5) for shipping; (6) as a contractor invoice; and (7) as commercial invoice support.
- Ensure that as equipment arrives on-site, the equipment manuals and warranty information that came with the shipments are collected and left with the appropriate personnel.
Qualifications:
- Requires several years experience with providing logistics support to major equipment installations
- Knowledge and experience with equipment handling procedures desired.
- Experience with large IT projects is a plus.
- Current NATO Secret clearance (plus).
